Christmas Delivery

Bikes

Our last day for dispatch is Thursday the 22nd of December. We use a next day/express courier for bikes, such as DPD or TNT/Fedex. All couriers are experiencing some delays at the moment so nothing is guaranteed, but these services are intended as a next day service and have been largely delivering as such.

If a bike is ordered before 12pm, we will do our very best to dispatch it on the same day. Again, this is not a guarantee, but we will do our best! If we can't dispatch on the same day, we will dispatch the next working day. Please bear in mind that we are closed on Wednesdays, so no orders are processed or dispatched on those days.

We fully assemble your bike before delivery as though you were going to ride it away from the shop. To get it back into a box for the courier, there is some minor disassembly such as removing pedals and handlebars.

Smaller Items

For pre-Christmas we now strongly recommend you upgrade from our standard post (Royal Mail 48) to either Royal Mail 24 or DPD. Royal Mail have indicated that the last day for Royal Mail 24 should be the 16th, but even that is not guaranteed. To give the best chance of pre-Christmas delivery, we recommend selecting the DPD option.

If your item is in stock and ordered before 12pm, we will do our best to despatch your order the day you place it. Please bear in mind that we are closed on Wednesdays, so no orders are processed or dispatched on those days.

Delivery Information

UK Delivery

If your item is in stock and ordered before 12pm, we will do our best to despatch your order the day you place it. In busy times we tell you how long it will take us to process it.

The above does not apply to bikes, which we have to assemble and inspect before repacking for dispatch. Typically we try to have bike orders dispatched within 3-5 days, but in busier times it may take longer. In those cases we'll let you know of longer than expected delivery times.

Please bear in mind that we are closed on Wednesdays, so no items will be dispatched then.

Free Postage over £40 on small items

For small items we use Royal Mail's 48 service which has a delivery time of typically 2-3 days from dispatch; though you do have the option to upgrade to 24 which is generally next-day from dispatch if you require your order sooner. Please note in some cases the item will need to be signed for, so please provide an address where someone will be in.

Orders of over £40 will qualify for free standard postage with Royal Mail 48. This excludes certain bulky or awkward items (for example shoes and helmets) which will be calculated automatically at the basket screen. Unless stated otherwise, bikes also do not qualify for free postage. Please see below for details on that.

Bike Shipping

When we send out a larger parcel such as a bike or trailer we use a tracked courier such as TNT's next-day service.

For these reasons please supply us with a delivery address where there will be someone in to sign for your parcel. If there is nobody in when the couriers call, they will leave a card. You can then phone them to arrange delivery for another day or collect your goods from your local depot (a photo ID with proof of address will be required).

Outside the UK

Since Brexit it is no longer feasible for our website to have permanent shipping prices for international delivery. Instead, if there is an item you are interested in, please Contact Us with a full delivery address and we will quote for delivery.

All the prices on our website and catalogue are in pounds sterling and are inclusive of VAT, but VAT will be removed for international orders. Please bear in mind you will likely have to pay your country's taxes and import duties for any items.

You can use the click and collect option to place an order at any time, any day, before collecting from the store at a time that suits you.

How do you do it? It's simple. Add the items you want to your cart, and then select the **collect in store** option below once you're on the basket screen:

Go through the checkout and pay for your items via our secure server. Once the order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. As soon as we're able we'll be in touch by phone or email to confirm with you when your items are available to collect. This could be practically instant, or it could take a few hours/days depending on the item.

If an item you have ordered is unavailable or delayed for whatever reason, we will of course let you know by the usual means of communication.

Once you're ready to collect your items, please bring your confirmation email with you (stored on a smartphone or printed), along with proof of ID (passport or driving license) and the card used to purchase.

Woom 5 lightweight kids' bike

Safe up hill and down dale

The woom 5 gives children aged seven years and older the chance to ride just like the big ones thanks to an eight-gear derailleur and easy-to-use twist shifter. No matter whether the bike is just a means of transport or a favourite hobby, riding the woom 5 guarantees fun and safety on two wheels.

woom frame

The superlight aluminium frame is the heart of the bike and ensures a fun and safe riding experience. Its cleverly designed age-specific geometry offers good control over the bike and gives young riders maximum safety while exploring new horizons.

Brakes

The two V-Brakes are easy to operate thanks to their ergonomically adapted brake levers with reach adjustability. The levers require only little strength to bring the bike to a safe halt.

woom vario stem

With the flexibility of the adjustable Vario stem, you can set not only the height of the bike but also its length to suit the rider. This means the bike grows with your child to ensure an optimal riding position at all times.

gears

The precise and easy-to-use gear-shifting makes riding more fun and enables children to go on longer rides while remaining simple enough for youngsters to understand. The SRAM X4 system has eight gears in the back (11-32) designed for a wide range of gradients combined with a 29-tooth chain ring in the front.

woom cranks

The crank length and distance between the pedals are ergonomically adapted to fit children's bodies. This results in an optimum stance and very natural movements. And thanks to the chain guard ring those days of getting your trouser leg caught are over!

Twist shifter

The easy-to-operate SRAM twist shifter enables riders to shift intuitively through the eight gears with minimal hand strength required.

Quick-release wheels

Quick-release skewers make installing and removing the wheels from the frame a quick and easy job. Having the wheels out of the frame makes it much easier to transport the bike in a car. And a quick removal and installation of the wheels is also super helpful if you get a flat tyre.

woom low-resistance tyres

Tyres have a major influence on how a bike rides. That is why for woom bikes they have chosen tyres that can be used for a broad variety of terrain. Whether you child is riding on tarmac, gravel or dirt, the lightweight tyres will ensure maximum grip in any weather and on any surface, whether your child is riding straight or making turns.

woom saddle

The saddle is one of the most important points of contact between the child and the bike. It significantly affects the feeling when riding. That is why woom's saddle is designed to fit the pelvis of children in this age group and give them a slightly stretched-out riding position. Perfect for a unique riding experience!

Quick-release seatpost clamp

The quick-release seatpost clamp offers a simple, quick and tool-free way to adjust the saddle height. It's even easy enough to be operated by children. On your pedals, ready, go!

Sizing

Sizing a child's bike is never as clear cut as just going from an age, height or even an inside leg measurement. There are many other factors to consider such as rider ability, strength and confidence. That's why we always recommend you visit our showroom to try one and receive advice first if possible. If not, give us a call and we're happy to advise over the phone.
Contact us
That said, the below can be used as a general guide to get an idea of which size you might be looking at. Each measurement should be used as an absolute minimum requirement, with the knowledge that the seatpost always has plenty of upward adjustment. If you think your child falls "between sizes", always go for the smaller size. You can make a bike "bigger" by lengthening the seatpost or moving the handlebars, but you can't make it smaller.

As with any product, specification is subject to change without prior notification. You are advised to confirm current specification before buying.
